When we think about stewardship, the first picture that may come to your mind is wealth. And rightly so, because where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. However, I think wealth is a bi-product of faithful stewardship. When we focus on material blessings alone, they often come, yet they come without joy.
There is an evil that I have seen under the sun, and it lies heavy on mankind: a man to whom God gives wealth, possessions, and honor, so that he lacksnothing of all that he desires, yet God does not give him power to enjoy them, but astranger enjoys them. This is vanity; it is a grievous evil.Eccl 6:1-2
When we focus on being faithful, seeking wisdom, and obeying God’s commandments, the same material blessing often come, however they bring with them the ability to enjoy the blessings: can-o-peaches and a can opener.
And so what do you have in front of you and all around you right now that you can continue faithful stewardship of? Perhaps God has given you a piece of land. Plant. Take dominion. Maybe a bank account. Give. Save. Expand. Give. You might be blessed with a wife and children. Love. Laugh. Sing.
And do all in order to advance The Kingdom.
Now is the best time for faithful stewardship.
